Lindsay Yakimyshyn

Director At Large

Lindsay is a wife and mother of two who originally hails from Camrose. In 2020, she joined the Zebra Child Protection board to pursue her desire to support initiatives that lift the most vulnerable in the community.

In her professional role, Lindsay has taught as a sessional lecturer in the English department of MacEwan University and the University of Alberta. She has also worked for the Alberta Teachers’ Association since 2004, with her work focusing on governance, communications, and investigations. Additionally, she has volunteered for various organizations such as Basically Babies and her church.

Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Drama from the University of Alberta, a Masters in English from Queen’s University, and a Ph.D. in English and Film Studies from the University of Alberta. As a life-long learner with the goal of continuous improvement, Lindsay has taken professional development courses on unconscious bias, internal investigations, statistics, and magazine production. Currently, she is completing a Leadership Development Certificate at NAIT.

Lindsay is excited to work with the Zebra Centre – an organization so vital to the well-being of our community’s children and youth.
