The Zebra Child Protection Centre will be hosting a one-day conference on Child Advocacy and Resilience. The CARA conference is intended for those who respond to and support children, youth, and families who have experienced abuse.
Training will include sessions to discuss the unique and vital work of Child Advocacy Centres in Alberta with a focus on supporting our Indigenous children and youth with Cheryl Whiskeyjack, Executive Director of Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society as well as a half-day training on compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma led by the highly sought-after Francoise Mathieu, Co-Executive Director of TEND.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Child Advocacy Centre staff and management, as well as any partner agencies that support children, youth and/or families who have experiences abuse. These agencies include: victims services, child welfare workers, mental health professionals, Crown Prosecutors and support staff, policing agencies, health care providers, community agencies and education professionals.
