Meet the Herd: Chantelle
Meet Chantelle, the Zebra Centre’s Manager of Justice Supports! She tells us what makes her most proud to be a member of the Herd, what she loves about her role and more!
Q: Tell us about your role as Manager of Justice Supports at the Zebra Centre.
Chantelle: My role as Manager of Justice Supports is to support staff and volunteers in providing advocacy support to children, youth and their families who come to the Zebra Centre. We provide support navigating through the justice system by facilitating Crown Prosecutors meetings, completing court preparations and accompanying kiddos and families in court, as well as ensuring they receive all the child-friendly accommodations available to them.
Q: What does a typical ‘day in the life’ as Manager of Justice Supports look like?
Chantelle: No day is ever the same at Zebra! When I am not supporting staff in the centre, you can find me updating the court schedule for accuracy, scheduling volunteers and court accompaniments for court matters, ensuring child-friendly requests have been made for court, and attending court to list a few. You can also find me attending many various meetings for Zebra and events!
Q: What do you love most about your role?
Chantelle: I love coming to work everyday and working with likeminded people, knowing we are making a difference in each kiddo and family that come to our centre.
Q: What is your proudest moment at the Zebra Centre so far?
Chantelle: Being apart of the new centre! It is fascinating watching Zebra grow and I look forward to being able to help more kiddos, families and communities.
Q: What motivates you to show your stripes (your why)?
Chantelle: Knowing I am coming into work everyday easing the court process for kiddos and families motivates me to show my stripes!
Q: Lastly, share a surprising or fun fact about you.
Chantelle: I have three rescue dogs 😊
